Record
In December 2025 the São Paulo regional electoral court upheld by 4 votes to 3 his conviction for misuse of the media in the 2024 campaign, tied to a contest paying people to post video clips, with a R$ 420,000 fine and ineligibility until 2032. On 5 August 2026 it unanimously rejected his appeal for clarification, and on 25 August it overturned a separate conviction. The TSE then rejected his presidential registration unanimously on 11 September 2026, over ineligibility and party affiliation. Appeals were reported as pending. Supporters, including União Brasil leaders, saw his 1.7 million votes in 2024 as electoral strength. Critics, including analysts quoted by Folha and SBT News, called his plans vague and uncosted.
