In 2024 he said the municipal party directorate blocked his bid for São Paulo mayor in favour of backing Ricardo Nunes. In 2026 Missão faced the electoral barrier of 2.5 percent of valid votes for the Chamber or 13 deputies, and its presidential candidate Renan Santos got 2.24 percent.
Supporters credit his agenda on civil-service reform and public spending. The PT declined to sign the antiprivilege PEC, seeing it as an indirect administrative reform that could harm civil servants and public services.
