Record

Over about ten years in the Chamber he authored or co-authored 116 proposals, of which three became rules; public security was the main theme. He is not eligible to run: the First Panel's June 2026 sentence is 4 years and 2 months, starting in semi-open regime, with 50 day-fines, loss of his Federal Police clerk post and ineligibility until eight years after the sentence is served. The court said his efforts to seek US sanctions against Brazilian officials were meant to pressure the judges in his father's trial. On 18 September 2026 the panel unanimously rejected an appeal filed by the public defender on his behalf. He says the conviction is void and politically motivated.

Supporters, including Eduardo himself, call the case political persecution. Critics, including the prosecutors and the court, charge that he worked abroad to coerce Brazilian judges.
